Man stabbed in neck in Lowell

LOWELL — A 53-year-old Lowell man suffered a non life-threatening stab wound to the neck when he was allegedly attacked by a man who was staying at his house early Sunday morning in the city’s Centralville neighborhood.

Police said they were called to 158 Hampshire St., near the intersection with Bridge Street, about 4 a.m., after the suspect fled the victim’s home.

The man was taken to Lowell General Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

Police said the suspect is known to the victim.

The suspect had been staying with the victim recently, and has issues with addiction, according to police. Police say the suspect asked the victim for some money, and then stabbed the victim when he said he had none.

Police are still searching for the attacker. No arrests have been made.
